About this Event
The motive force behind our endeavor at Clio’s is fostering conversation about books and ideas. Our community programming continues with the monthly "Award Winners" book club.
In honor of the passing of Nobel Laureate Alice Munro (1931-2024), this month's book club will discuss her 2001 short story collection: .
The tangles of people and place suffuse Munro's works. Most of her stories focus on the lives of women and girls, and are set in her native county in Ontario. Yet they are not restricted in their meanings to that locale. If the novel is prosaic, Munro proved that short stories can elevate the everyday and homely. She grants it the dignity it so rightfully deserves.
