Aviation Summer Camp 2026

Pilot in Training Flight Academy’s Aviation Summer Camp is a 5-day immersive experience designed for teens ages 13–17 who are interested in aviation, aircraft, and flight training. Hosted at Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the camp combines classroom learning, hands-on aviation activities, aircraft exploration, and real flight experiences in a fun and structured environment.

Campers learn the fundamentals of aviation through subjects such as the principles of flight, aircraft systems, navigation, aerodynamics, aircraft maintenance, and pilot training. Throughout the week, participants take part in interactive workshops, airplane walkarounds, flight planning exercises, riveting projects, simulator-style activities, and hands-on experiences inside an active aviation environment.

The program is designed not only to introduce students to flying, but also to expose them to the many career paths within the aviation industry, including piloting, engineering, maintenance, and aerospace technology. The camp concludes with an introductory flight experience, giving students the opportunity to experience real flight operations firsthand.

Safety and supervision are a major focus of the camp. Activities are overseen by qualified instructors, and campers follow aviation safety procedures while learning in a controlled environment. Breakfast snacks and lunch are provided daily.

The Aviation Summer Camp is intended to inspire young aviation enthusiasts, build confidence, encourage teamwork, and create lasting memories while giving students a unique behind-the-scenes look into the world of aviation.
