Short Documentary
An-Phuong Ly is a production designer and art director based in DC. She’s worked in commercial advertising and indie films, designing the visual worlds for campaigns, shorts, and feature length projects. An is also a textile artist with an emphasis on natural dyes and education. She has work showing at the US Botanic Garden and teaches classes at places like the US National Arboretum, GWU Textile Museum, and Stanford University’s Educational Farm. This is her first film as director.
Robin Groulx is a filmmaker based in Detroit and DC. Robin worked in media in Axios’ documentary film department where he directed multiple video series that covered politics, technology and science. He’s directed short docs for National Geographic and campaign videos for Rock the Vote. His work as DP can be seen across advertising, politics, journalism, and the music industry. Robin is also an electronic musician and modular synth producer. Robin worked as Director of Photography on both films in this WIP screening.
Yumeji House Short Film
Yumeji House is a DC-based independent production company founded by long-time collaborators Chelsie Pennello and Corbett Blair. Together, they enjoy making films with a focus on music and weird little jokes. Their most recent film, Mandarins, was shot in DC’s Chinatown and screened in over 17 festivals across the country, including Cinequest Film Festival, Cucalorus, and New Hampshire Film Festival where it won “Best Short Drama”. They are excited to share this work-in-progress screening with the DC community.
