($20-30 + DICE Fees | 6:30pm & 8:30pm Shows) Autumn Dominguez is a New Orleans-based saxophonist, vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader whose eclectic artistry defies genre. Raised in Prescott, Arizona, she picked up guitar at 9 and saxophone at 11, eventually earning a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Arizona's Fred Fox School of Music. After building a devoted following in Tucson, where she ran one of Arizona's most popular jazz jam sessions, she relocated to New Orleans in 2022 and hit the ground running.Since arriving, Autumn has performed at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, shared stages with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Gabrielle Cavassa, and Trumpet Mafia™, and earned a commission from contemporary dance company Melange. A passionate educator, she has served on faculty at the prestigious Birch Creek Summer Music Academy and teaches at the Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music.
At the heart of it all is her original music. Autumn calls her sound "sad girl soul rock" — a fusion of Bird-inspired saxophone, honest lyricism, soulful vocals, and rock-tinged chord progressions. Her latest release, "27 Club," is a psychedelic single accompanied by a short film she wrote and produced, supported by a grant from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.
Tonight, she brings her jazz fusion compositions to the stage, accompanied by Chris Peña (keyboard), Colin McIlrath (bass), and Kenji Lancaster (drums)
