Join us to kick off the beginning of hiking season with a day trip out to the hills above Dömös 🍂The plan is to complete a 14km loop that climbs up to panoramic views of the Danube bend, which should be scenic and green this time of year. It's a moderate climb but nothing too crazy so we can ease back in after the weeks and months of reclining in the summer heat.
We'll meet at 10am at Nyugati (downstairs outside the entrance to the metro 3) and travel to Újpest-központ, then take a bus up to Dömös templom stop where the hike begins. The cost of the bus is 930 huf for a regular ticket, and can be purchased in cash or on the MAV app. We'll plan to be back in Budapest around 19:30/20h in the evening.
Invite whomever you like <3 Just be sure to bring a small bag with water, snacks, and lunch and to wear hiking shoes or sneakers as the trail will be rocky. It'll still be warm (predicted ~30 degrees) but will cool off towards evening. There are a few cafes that serve food that will be open in Dömös if we're hungry after we finish.
