In this inspiring spring break camp, Youth will learn how to tell their story using drawings, character development, story structure, text bubbles, narration, panel and page formatting. We will start on paper and if students would like to progress to digital tools they are familiar with, they can utilize them, in this class. For digital drawing, please download the digital drawing application called Procreate, which is available on an Ipad. Digital drawing is optional. Ipencil or a digital drawing pen. Please bring digital drawing pen as well as charging wires if you choose this medium. Please have some basic prior experience using this technology. Digital comic drawing techniques will be taught.
If you choose to work on paper, comic drawing paper with prepared ruler lines for panelling will be provided in class. Drawing tools such as pencils, erasers, drawing pens, rulers and white out will be provided.
These workshops will be an opportunity for creative minds to flow and draw from their own life to tell their stories. In this class we will work towards completing some finished sequential art stories which the students can take home and print as their own self published zine.
