Learn the story behind the story... 📖✨
Spend an unforgettable evening with Louisville author David Dominé as he discusses his gripping true-crime book A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City—now adapted into an HBO original documentary.
Set against the haunting backdrop of Old Louisville, this chilling and meticulously researched story begins with the discovery of a body hidden in the wine cellar of a crumbling Victorian mansion. What initially appears to be a crime of passion soon unravels into a far more complex tale of secrets, power, and a community grappling with truth and identity. Drawing on firsthand access to the trials and conversations within Louisville’s vibrant LGBTQ community, Dominé pieces together a narrative as atmospheric as it is unsettling.
During this special Author Voices event, Dominé will share insights into the case, his research and writing process, and the journey from page to screen as the story was adapted for HBO. The event will include a moderated talk, audience Q&A, and a book signing, with copies available for purchase.
