About this Event

We're thrilled to welcome Scottish-born author James Dunbar to Hobart Library for an engaging author talk in conversation with Meg Keneally.

James' new crime thriller, Twisted River, imagines everyone’s worst nightmare coming home from holiday and discovering nothing is as you left it, and your identity has been stolen.

Full of sinister twists and turns, dark humour and a fascinating cast of supporting characters from society's shadowy fringes, Twisted River will grip you until the final cliffhanger ending!

James Dunbar is a journalist, television scriptwriter, travel writer, university lecturer and website editor. Mole Creek, his first venture into the serious crime thriller and espionage genre, was shortlisted in the Danger Awards. Published as Jimmy Thomson, he is also the author of crime 'caper' novels and true-crime memoirs, as well as several books about Australian army engineers during the Vietnam War.

Meg Keneally has worked as a journalist, corporate affairs professional and SCUBA diving instructor. She is co-author with Tom Keneally of The Soldier’s Curse and three books in the Monsarrat series. Her first solo novel was Fled (2019), followed by The Wreck (2020). With Leah Kaminsky, she is co-editor of Animals Make Us Human (Penguin, 2020). Meg lives in Sydney.
