About this Event
The author, who grew up in Geneva, will recount his experience taken hostage by the Soviet Union along with other fishing boat crew members during the Cold War, and reflect upon the four years he was educated in Geneva’s last one-room schoolhouse, the Glass Factory Bay School, now a residence.
This talk -- free and open to the public -- is the opening keynote for a 3-day conference of the Country School Association of America, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of old rural schools. The conference brings together history buffs, preservationists, educators and others interested in commemorating our nation's educational heritage.
