Join author Natalie Lemle for a conversation on Artifacts, her debut novel, with Nick De Pace and Lisa Fagin Davis at the BPL.
About this Event

Join the Associates of the Boston Public Library for an evening with board member and recently published author Natalie Lemle, celebrating her debut novel, .

Natalie will be joined in conversation by Nick De Pace, RISD Senior Critic of Art and Architecture, and will be moderated by fellow Associates Board Member Lisa Fagin Davis, Executive Director of the Medieval Academy of America. An audience Q&A will follow the 30-minute panel discussion.

Copies of Artifacts will be available for purchase from Trident Booksellers & Cafe, and Natalie will sign books following the talk.

Please note that donations for this event go towards the Associates of the Boston Public Library's mission to preserve and promote the BPL's Special Collections.

Natalie Lemle

Natalie Lemle studied classics and art history at Tufts University and earned an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. She is the founder of art_works, an art advisory connecting contemporary artists with global companies, and previously worked in corporate relations at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She serves on the boards of the ICA/Boston and the Associates of the Boston Public Library. Artifacts is her first novel.
Nick De Pace

Nick De Pace has taught in RISD’s Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Architecture departments since 1999. De Pace’s interest in ancient infrastructural systems, territorial land-water management, and the 18th-century drawings of Giovanni Battista Piranesi led to a Fulbright Fellowship in 2005 to document the Emissarium of Lake Albano, a monumental subterranean water conduit of ancient Roman engineering. Since being certified in urban speleology by Roma Sotterranea, he has collaborated on numerous archaeological activities, most recently the architectural reconstructions for the forthcoming publication on the Villa Magna Project in southern Latium.

Lisa Fagin Davis

Lisa Fagin Davis received her PhD in Medieval Studies from Yale University in 1993 and has catalogued medieval manuscript collections at Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Walters Art Museum, Wellesley College, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Boston Public Library, and several private collections. She has taught Latin Paleography at Yale University and regularly teaches an introduction to Manuscript Studies at the Simmons University School of Library and Information Science. She was elected to the Comité international de paléographie latine in 2019 and has served as Executive Director of the Medieval Academy of America since 2013
