Iowa City has a story to tell — and it involves brewers, temperance crusaders, and a whole lot of trouble.Join us for an evening celebrating Beer Money: A Tale of the Iowa City Beer Mafia, a gripping historical fiction set in 1880s Iowa City, when German, Czech, and Irish immigrants built fortunes in the "Northside" neighborhood through the power of brewing. Three large breweries rose to prominence. The women of the Women's Christian Temperance Union rose to meet them. What followed turned the prairie red.
