Duluth author and journalist Naomi Yaeger will offer a historical presentation followed by discussion and crafts. Her book, "Blooming Hollyhocks: Tales of Joy During Hard Times," tells the story of a girl growing up in southwest Minnesota during the Great Depression, coming of age as her brothers and other men head off to WWII. She then attends nursing school in the Twin Cities.
Everyone is invited to learn more about the history of the midwest and make their own corn husk doll.
