ABOUT THE BOOKS
Don Martin’s Young Adult Fantasy novel Verity Vox and the Curse of Foxfire (Page Street) answers the question, “What if Kiki’s Delivery Service took place in the world of Old Gods of Appalachia?” When a witch in training, Verity Vox, is sent to a forgotten coal mining town in the mountains of Appalachia, she quickly learns that breaking a curse is the least of her problems. She must win over the townsfolk, find a missing girl, and solve the mystery of what is really under the mountain all while learning the lesson that magic can’t fix everything. Steeped in real world history and Appalachian folklore, Verity Vox and the Curse Foxfire flies onto shelves August 2025.
The Corruption of Hollis Brown is one of Ancrum's stand-alone novels in her parable series that focuses on the preservation of the queer experience. Designed to showcase important lessons about queer community, the resolution of generational trauma, and queer resilience , this novel is in vignette format and set in the Lake District of the Midwest. This novel is a queer romantic thriller in which the lives of Hollis, a boy in search of meaning, and Walt, a spirit with unfinished business, collide when Walt takes possession of Hollis’s body…and maybe his heart.
