No Secrets in this House spans four wars, three generations, two continents, and one Outer Banks Island accessible only by boat. Ocracoke gals—Maddie, Clare, and Trish—are haunted by secrets and scars stemming from WWII, but also from before and after then. Can the island's magic help these women heal from their pasts and walk boldly into promising futures?
After living abroad in France, Africa, and England, Sheryl Cornett is a Southerner by choice, as by birth. A dual citizen of North Carolina and South Louisiana, she writes from the rural buffer in both home states. After many years teaching and mentoring English and Creative Writing NC State students (at home and abroad), she now writes fulltime. Sheryl holds degrees from Miami University (Ohio), University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Seattle Pacific University (MFA). She is the mother of four grown children and lives on 18 acres with her husband T-Mike and their chocolate Labrador, Roddy.
