About this Event
In celebration of Women’s History Month, join us for a conversation with Amy Rossi about her debut novel, The Cover Girl, moderated by Janine Kossen, JD, MPH, director of NC State’s Women’s Center.
About the book: inspired by true events and told in two timelines, the novel explores the life of Birdie Rhodes, a teenage girl who becomes a model in the 1970s and gets entangled with an older rock star who becomes her guardian. The story follows Birdie's life from her discovery at 13 through her traumatic relationship with the musician and her quiet life decades later. Rossi is currently the Director of Development Communications at NC State. You can read more about her writing journey in the NC State Magazine.
