About this event

Authentic Movement is a transformative Body-Centered practice rooted in Jungian Depth Psychology and Dance/Movement Therapy. In this small-group 5 week series you will experience the transformative power of this creative embodiment practice as well as explore working with plant allies and limpias (energetic clearing) designed to deepen your process.

We will be working with non-psychedelic plant allies such as rose, chamomile, mugwort, rosemary, and lemon balm -- through meditation, song, energetic witnessing, taking them as teas during our practice, and receiving their support for energetic cleansing (limpias).

WEEK 1: Intro to Authentic Movement + Plant ally: Corn and Chica (fermented corn beverage from the andes)
>> Exploration of interbeing and mutual nourishment in Community
WEEK 2: Energy Cleansing and Deepening into the practice of AM + Plant ally: Mugwort.
>> Entering into Dreamtime and connecting with the realm of the symbolic
WEEK 3: Attachment Reparair in Authentic Movement + Plant ally: Chamomille
>> Tending to the Inner Child

WEEK 4: The Satisfaction Cycle in Authentic Movement + Plant ally: Rose and Rosehips
>> Reconnecting with embodied satisfaction and reclaiming our right to pleasure
WEEK 5: Resilience and Embodied Choice + Plant ally: Rosemary and Oak
>> Re-membering our roots to stand tall and move forward with self-authorship

In this course you will:
  • Learn about the history and form of Authentic Movement as a practice of embodied exploration and profound healing (all levels of experience welcome),
  • Learn energetic, meditative, and shamanic practices for connecting with plant allies to support our internal Witnessing function and the clearing of old stuck patterns in our field
  • Utilize conscious movement, witnessing, energy work, and art-making to explore the themes of healing and growth that are alive for you during this time.
  • Experience been truly seen in your embodied truth.
  • Identify and shift the emotional, psychological, and somatic barriers that prevent you from connecting deeply with yourself, others, and the Divine.

EveryBODY is welcome! No previous experience required. This mini-series is open to adults (18+) of any identity and level of experience.

Structure: Each 2 hour session will include reflections on the week's topic, embodied experiential exercises (solo, in dyads, or with the whole group), a traditional Authentic Movement session with transition time for journaling/art-making followed by Witnessing, and an exploration of plant allies who can support us in deepening the process.

The series is meant to be taken in order and within the container of a closed group.

Fees: The fee for the whole series is $480 (or $299 with need-based diversity scholarship available, providing a 25% discount to qualifying participants). Contact us to receive an application.

Cancellations and Refunds: If you are unable to attend the whole series after booking you can receive credit to utilize towards future installments of these classes (they are held usually twice a year in Fall and Spring, through this is not a guarantee). PLEASE NOTE: the first class is crucial to set the container together and we cover quite a bit of important groundwork. If you miss the first class you will NOT be able to continue with the series that time around, but you can receive credit to apply to the next installment. If you need to cancel your booking, please note we do not provide refunds within 10 days of the series starting (though you may be able to receive credit for future classes).
