Authentic Communication - 5 Week Series

Imagine a space where you can experience genuine connection by practicing authentic expression and non-judgmental listening — no topic is off limits and no one is pushing their advice on you. This is the purpose and intention of this positive and deeply nourishing experience.
This course is ideal for those who are looking to:
- uncover patterns in your emotional responses
- gain deeper insights into your own feelings
- enhance your ability to empathize with and understand others in their experiences
- create deeper and more meaningful relationships
- navigate conversations with greater sensitivity and insight; both towards others and yourself
This is a dialogue space where we will demonstrate and use interactive listening and relational exercises. The goal is to practice these skills together in a safe container so we can utilize them to sustain healthy relationships and build strong communities wherever we go.
While each week will have a theme for what tools we are using, the content of the conversations will vary depending on the participants and what is present in the group collective that day.
Maizy will facilitate the experience by guiding the conversation, managing time, and introducing and demonstrating different exercises and prompts. There is no hierarchy and everyone is encouraged to share equally and freely, including the facilitator.

Maizy is passionate about the joy of human connection and exploring our creative potential through group process and embodiment practices. Through her own experience she has witnessed time and time again that when we have designated time and space to share authentically and have our stories and feelings listened to we can heal the wounded parts of ourselves and celebrate the wonders of our lives together.
An embodiment teacher and event coordinator by profession, Maizy has spent the last 10 years teaching yoga, facilitating Authentic Relating Games, hosting Ecstatic Dances, working in wilderness therapy, and many other intentional ceremonies, retreats, and workshops. Always seeking to understand the human experience more deeply, as of July 2023, Maizy is working to complete her required hours to become a certified Social Health Practitioner through Seek Healing; a non-profit organization that understands that meaningful social connection and community belonging are the most important elements of addiction recovery.
