About this Event
Our January event features a new format at a new venue, Trellis Wine Bar in Park Hill. We will be pouring 6 premium, Australian wines at a stand-up tasting with a self-service grazing board for your enjoyment in the cozy canopy loft.
Our featured wineries are Tyrell’s, Hunter Valley, and Elderton, Barossa Valley, presented by Jo Barrett, Regional Manager for Broadbent Selections. Both estates have been celebrated in the Halliday Wine Companion’s “Top 100 Wineries 2024”.
Founded in 1858, Tyrrell's Wines is a cornerstone of Australia's winemaking heritage, located in the renowned Hunter Valley. Established by Edward Tyrrell, this family-owned winery has pioneered key developments in the industry, such as the Private Bin system and Australia's first commercial Chardonnay. Today, under the leadership of Bruce Tyrrell, the winery continues to produce award-winning single-vineyard wines (like their iconic Vat 1 Semillon), celebrated for their quality and sustainability.
Elderton is a small, family-owned winery in the heart of the Barossa Valley. The vineyards, first planted by German settlers in 1894, were purchased by the Ashmead family in 1979. The Ashmeads restored the vineyards, producing their first wines in 1982. Elderton gained acclaim for its Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, contributing to the rejuvenation of the Barossa Valley.
