Austin Poetry Slam Presents: The $100 New Sh!t Slam
After a much-needed first week reschedule, we’re back and ready for a fresh round of fire! On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, join us at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller in Barrel O'Fun for a night of bold new work. Hosted by Christopher Michael, this slam is all about the new—new poems, new energy, and a chance to win $100!
Slam Rules:
- Round 1: Only New Sh!t! This means poems that have never been scored competitively.
- Extra Points: Bring new work in any additional rounds to earn an extra point each time!
- Time Limit: 3 minutes, with a 10-second grace period. Hand signals will keep you on track.
- No Props or Extras: This is all about the poetry—no props, animal acts, or musical accompaniment allowed.
- Original Work Only: All poems must be your own
Doors open at 7 pm. Poet Draw is at 7:15pm. Get validated parking by scanning the QR codes in the garage and at the entry desk. Plus, enjoy the full Alamo Drafthouse bar and food menu.
