About this Event
Hello APWs 🤍
Spring evenings are returning to Austin, and with them comes that beautiful stretch of light photographers love most. Golden hour slowly warming the city, followed by the deep cobalt tones of blue hour as the lights of South Congress begin to glow.
On March 28th at 5:30 PM, we’ll be gathering at the iconic corner of 96 ½ South Congress, right in the heart of one of Austin’s most vibrant streets.
This area is full of life. Neon signs flickering on as the sun sets. Reflections in shop windows. Street musicians playing into the evening air. The mix of locals, visitors, color, movement, and architecture gives us endless opportunities to explore with our cameras.
Golden hour will give us soft directional light and long shadows along the avenue. As blue hour arrives, the character of South Congress transforms into something entirely different. Streetlights, storefronts, and passing headlights create a completely new palette of color and contrast.
Whether you're chasing candid street moments, experimenting with motion, or simply enjoying time with other photographers, this walk is all about exploration and community.
Bring whatever camera inspires you. DSLR, mirrorless, film, phone. It’s never about the gear. It’s about the eye behind it.
Austin always has something interesting waiting if we slow down long enough to see it.
