About this Event
Artist-in-residence Austin Cullen brings a thought-provoking workshop that explores the intersection of organic specimens and the recorded history of the photographic negative. Through precision masking and multi-exposure compositing, participants will interrogate how we catalogue, frame, and ultimately construct representations of the natural world.
Rooted in Austin’s practice, the workshop also draws inspiration from the River Dart's surrounding landscape River Dart, where the darkroom is situated, connecting site, material, and process through a hands-on, experimental approach.

Participant Required: Opaque black cardstock
● Source Material: Participants must bring their own landscape, architectural, or
typological negatives (35mm or medium format).
● Organic Matter: To be sourced locally around Totnes and the River Dart during the
workshop.
