Die Künstlerin und Komponistin Myriam el Haïk arbeitet zu Sprache. Ihre Performance OHrGrüN/VerT d‘OreiLLe beschäftigt sich mit dem Spiel mit Worten und Klängen, Fehlübersetzungen und ihrem poetischen Potenzial, neue Bedeutungen und imaginäre Welten zu schaffen. Das Ergebnis ist ein Zusammenspiel von Spiel, Sprache, Musik, Video und performativer Aktion.
Die Performance findet im Rahmen des mehrteiligen Projektes Against the Playbook - kuratiert von Aline Lenzhofer - statt und untersucht die subversive Kraft des Spiels um gesellschaftliche Normen, Strukturen und Konventionen herauszufordern.

Myriam el Haïk:
Myriam El Haïk (1973 in Rabat) ist eine marokkanisch-französische Künstlerin, Komponistin und Performerin. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Rabat.
Ihre künstlerische Sprache basiert auf der Wiederholung und Kombination einfacher Zeichen, Muster und Handlungen und ist gleichermaßen von marokkanischen wie europäischen kulturellen Einflüssen geprägt. Im Zentrum ihrer Arbeit steht die Verbindung von Musik und visueller Kunst. Ausgehend von eigenen minimalistischen, repetitiven Kompositionen entwickelt El Haïk Notations- und Zeichensysteme, die musikalische Strukturen in visuelle Formen übersetzen.
Ihre Arbeiten lassen sich als visuelle Transkriptionen musikalischer Prozesse verstehen und manifestieren sich in Zeichnungen, Installationen, Videos und Performanceformaten. Die stark rhythmisierten Ausdrucksformen sind zugleich reduziert und komplex, medienübergreifend angelegt und in sich kohärent. Schreiben und Spiel nehmen dabei eine zentrale Rolle ein: Durch das bewusste Dekonstruieren und Unterlaufen von Konventionen schafft die Künstlerin ihre eigenen Regeln und Systeme.
Myriam El Haïk war in zahlreichen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen in Europa und Marokko vertreten und nahm an internationalen Messen und Festivals teil. Performances führten sie unter anderem nach Paris, London, Montreal und New York.

Artist and composer Myriam El Haïk works with language as a central material. Her performance OHrGrüN/VerT d’OreiLLe explores the playful interaction of words and sounds, mistranslations, and their poetic potential to generate new meanings and imaginary worlds. The result is an interplay of play, language, music, video, and performative action.
The performance takes place within the multi-part project Against the Playbook - curated by Aline Lenzhofer - which investigates the subversive power of play as a means of challenging social norms, structures, and conventions.

Myriam El Haïk
Myriam El Haïk (born 1973 in Rabat) is a Franco-Moroccan artist, composer, and performer. She lives and works in Berlin and Rabat.
Her artistic language is based on the repetition and combination of simple signs, patterns, and actions, and is equally informed by Moroccan and European cultural influences. At the core of her practice lies the connection between music and visual art. Drawing on her own minimalist, repetitive compositions, El Haïk develops systems of notation and drawing that translate musical structures into visual forms.
Her works can be understood as visual transcriptions of musical processes and take shape in drawings, installations, videos, and performance formats. These highly rhythmical forms of expression are both reduced and complex, conceived across media and internally coherent. Writing and play play a central role in her work: through the conscious deconstruction and subversion of conventions, the artist creates her own rules and systems.
Myriam El Haïk has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Morocco and has taken part in international fairs and festivals. Her performances have brought her, among other places, to Paris, London, Montreal, and New York.
