One day, Lady Chalmont receives the welcome news that her estranged nephew is returning home to England with his new wife Aurélia. However, Aurélia arrives alone. Although she brings a pleasant change of pace to the quiet Cotswolds village, an air of secrecy and suspicion follows her. As an enigmatic and deceitful web of Machivallian proportions is spun, it starts to emerge that nothing is quite as it seems, and who is truly trustworthy is thrown into question.
