City Winery St. Louis and Kimaiya Hall Dance Co. presents Aura 2: Her live on June 18th at 7:30pm!
Aura 2: Her is a daring, sensual, and profoundly empowering musical dance concert that takes a bold dive into the intricacies of womanhood, with a specific focus on the experiences of Black women. This high-caliber production explores themes of sexuality, confidence, and self-ownership, celebrating the deep intimacy that comes with embracing one's body and power. At its core, Aura 2: Her delves into the sacred ceremony of sharing one's deepest self or choosing to keep it hidden, highlighting the strength in both decisions.
Following the powerful narrative set by Aura, this next chapter expands upon the complexity of artistry, inviting audiences on a journey that celebrates the many ways women express sensuality. Through a mesmerizing fusion of dance, music, and storytelling, the production highlights the delicate balance between vulnerability and empowerment, exhibition and restraint, and the profound strength found in both.
Unlike any other professional dance concert, Kimaiya Hall Dance Company (KHDC) continues its mission of uplifting St. Louis' rich artistic heritage. This premier collaborative experience will feature some of the region’s most celebrated dancers and musicians, including Be.Be The Neo-Soul, Rachel Bouzier, Roxx, and the extraordinary artists of KHDC. Together, they will bring to life an electrifying fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and soul, embodying the essence of the city's dynamic music and dance culture.
This immersive, high-energy performance promises to be visually stunning, thought-provoking, and unforgettable—leaving audiences entranced, inspired, and eager to share its impact.
A visionary in dance and performance, Kimaiya Hall is a powerhouse choreographer, director, and artist committed to celebrating movement as both a storytelling and community-building force. Beginning her dance journey at the age of 11, she trained under esteemed mentors before refining her craft at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. Her career has since spanned choreography for major productions, performing for renowned artists, and founding Kimaiya Hall Dance Company—a platform dedicated to showcasing diverse talent and redefining the aesthetics of professional dance.
Through her work with KHDC and her EmpowerHer initiative under the Community Wellness Project, Kimaiya is deeply passionate about using dance as a means of expression, collaboration, and advocacy for Black women. Aura 2: Her is a testament to that passion—a celebration of artistry, identity, and the unapologetic power of women’s stories.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
