Calling all fiddlers, ballad singers, folk dancers, bodhrán players, and keen spectators! Come on down for a night of folk music from Iceland, Appalachia, Ireland, England, and farther afield, hosted by the lovely folks at Ægir. The Reykjavík Trad Sessions is an informal collective of musicians who get together to play sessions--loosely organized nights of traditional reels, jigs, & songs in a pub atmosphere--and we're eager to bring the experience to you! Newcomers are most welcome: if you play or sing songs from your region, we'd love to hear them.
Dancers, onlookers, and town jesters are invited as well.
We'll play starting at 20:00 and go until just before the bar closes at 22:45. Ægir is located at Laugavagur 2, 101 Reykjavík--the basement bar at the corner of Skólavörðustígur.
We'd encourage everyone to help support Ægir by buying drinks & bringing friends along!
