Training day for those who want to learn more about the use of Augmentative and Alternative (AAC) communication in the classroom.
About this Event

Course will focus on how basics of AAC and how teachers and therapists can work together to facilitate using AAC in a classroom setting to promote learning, communication and social interaction.

Topics covered include:

  • AAC overview
  • Adapting lesson plans for AAC
  • Using devices for social engagement
  • Adapting classroom environment
  • Workshop focusing on use and demonstration of AAC devices

The course is open for teachers, speech therapists, SNAs and occupational therapists who want to expand and develop their skills when working with clients who use AAC.

The coordinators are Aisling Dolly, Nicole Gleeson and Grainne Murphy

Course will take place in person in the Central Remedial Clinic in Clontarf
