Der Palast der Republik bleibt auch 35 Jahre nach dem Ende der DDR das Symbol für die tiefgreifenden Umbrüche der deutschen Wiedervereinigung. Kein anderes Gebäude verkörpert die gesellschaftlichen, politischen und kulturellen Transformationen dieser Zeit so nachdrücklich. Das Humboldt Forum lädt im Rahmen des Jahresschwerpunktes "Hin und weg. Der Palast der Republik ist Gegenwart" zum letzten Thementag "Auf Wiedersehen, Palast – Vom Abbruch und Aufbruch" ein und richtet unterschiedliche Blick auf Orte und Menschen, die bis heute mit dem Erbe der Friedlichen Revolution umgehen.
Der letzte Thementag im Rahmen des Themenschwerpunkte "Hin und Weg. Der Palast der Republik ist Gegenwart" bringt Themen und Menschen zusammen, die das Erbe der DDR aktiv gestalten und bewahren. Alle Veranstaltungen bieten die Gelegenheit, sich mit den Herausforderungen auseinanderzusetzen, die mit der Pflege und Weitergabe des Erbes der DDR verbunden sind.
