Auditions for Lend Me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on the campus of Madisonville Community College in Madisonville, Kentucky.THE STORY: The Tony Award-winning comedy, set in 1934, is a farce involving mistaken identities, romantic complications, and opera-related chaos when a famous tenor goes missing.
The performances are February 13-15, 2026, at the Glema Center. The cast will meet on December 15 and 16 and then begin regular rehearsals on January 5. Character descriptions indicate roles for a blustery general manager, his nervous assistant, a quirky daughter, a charismatic tenor, a fiery wife, an ambitious soprano, a society grande dame, and an obnoxious bellhop. Auditions are open to performers age 16 and up. Those auditioning should complete the audition form by visiting GlemaCenter.org > Community > Auditions: Community Theatre. Those planning to audition should prepare a comedic monologue one to two minutes in length and should be prepared for the possibility of doing a cold read from the script. This production will be directed by Jamie Moss and stage managed by Laura Cobb.
