Our Spring 2026 Auditions will be combined auditions for Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits and Godspell. You DO NOT have to be auditioning for both to come to auditions. You can specify which show you are auditioning for but can also audition for both at one time. Both shows are musicals and singing is required of all parts.
Three Audition Dates and Locations
Tuesday Nov 18 - 6:30 to 7:30 Antioch Church's The Hub (11656 Somerset Ave, Princess Anne, MD 21853)
Saturday Nov 22 - 2:00 to 3:00 St. Mary's Church (18 3rd St, Pocomoke City, MD 21851)
Sunday Nov 23 - 1:00 to 2:00 at Art League of Ocean City (502 94th St, Ocean City, MD 21842)
Preparing for your audition:
*Be prepared to cold read from both scripts
*Bring a prepared 2 minute selection of a song (provide back track from your phone or other device) from an appropriate musical theater genre that represents your vocal range. No more than 2 minutes will be allowed per auditioner.
About Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits and Auditioning for this Show
This is a cabaret-style show comprised of comedic spoofs of popular Broadway hits. The show has been running for more that 40 years and this set of hits is pulled from its shows in the 1980's through today.
There are no main roles but each "hit" may have leading and supporting parts. This show pulls from famous shows such as Annie, Into the Woods, Hairspray, Rent, and many more.
Some parts of the show may incorporate simple dances and movement but this will not be a high intensity movement production and there will be no dance audition.
As some of the show's material may include mild cursing and mature subject matter, auditioners must be ages 13 and older. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent to audition and parents must provide parental consent. Those who do not want to be in a skit with cursing may make that request if cast.
This show will be directed by Alicia Zahn, LSPAC's current Artistic Director. Alicia previously directed the Spring 2024 show - The Altos.
Rehearsals and Show Dates: Rehearsals will begin the week of January 4th and run through February. Tech week will be February 15 - 20 and all cast are required to be available for rehearsals each day of tech. Show dates are February 21th at 7 p.m., Feb 22nd at 4 p.m., Feb 27th at 7 p.m., and March 14 (tentative, may move up) at 7 p.m. Shows will be performed in Ocean City, Crisfield, and Pocomoke. 1-2 performances may be added but will not extend beyond March 15.
About Godspell and Auditioning for this Show
This is a musical based on the Gospel of Matthew, featuring a small ensemble cast that, along with Jesus, acts out the parables through songs, dance, and comedy.
The show includes some mild dancing and movement requirements.
Auditioning for this show is open to all ages 16 years and older. Anyone under age 18 will need a parent present for auditions and parental consent to do so.
Roles:
Jesus - (Tenor) Gathers the group and guides them through the parables. A charismatic, high-energy tenor who is both a gentle leader and a strong figure.
John the Baptist/Judas - (Baritone) Charismatic and has a revolutionary undertone. The role requires an actor who can portray both an ardent disciple and a doubter who eventually questions Jesus
Jeffrey - (Tenor) High-energy, impish, and playful.
Robin - (Mezzo-Soprano) Tomboyish, but open and sweet.
Sonia - (Alto) Sassy, cynical, urban, and provocative.
Lamar - (Tenor) Sweet and innocent.
Herb - (Baritone) Comedian and class clown.
Joanne - (Soprano) Confident and a show-off.
Peggy - (Alto) Shy and committed.
Celisse - (Mezzo-Soprano) Goofy and a cut-up.
George - (Tenor) Funny, known for doing imitations.
Glimer - (Alto or Soprano) Comedic storyteller.
This production will be directed by Robert Forester, a seasoned director and current Vice President of LSPAC. The show's dates are not yet determined but it is expected to run through the month of May 2026. Show locations planned to be in Ocean City, Crisfield, and Pocomoke with possible productions in other shore regions. Rehearsals to begin the week of March 8. Dates will be planned not to interfere with Forbidden Broadway to allow actors, tech, and other show support to be present for both if interested in being in the two spring productions.
