Auditions will be held Monday & Tuesday, April 21 & 22, @ 7:00pm, Callbacks on Wednesday, April 23 @ 7:00pm
Please bring a headshot, resume, and your calendar to list any conflicts on the audition form. Sides will be provided for actors at audition. Actors will be given a few minutes to practice with them.
SHOW NOTE: We strongly encourage actors of all ages, colors, shapes, sizes, gender identities and levels of physical ability to audition.
SYNOPSIS: The Miracle Worker dramatizes the true story of Helen Keller, a girl from Alabama who was blind and deaf, and Anne Sullivan, the woman who taught her language. It is a love letter to the teachers who never give up, even when their students seem beyond reach. Though the Keller family and Annie Sullivan are in constant conflict at the beginning of the play, they learn a great deal from each other by the end.
Rehearsals April 28-June 5, Mon through Thursday from 7pm – 10pm
Tech week starts Saturday May 31, 10am – 6pm
Performances: June 6-29, Thurs-Sat at 7:30pm, Sunday matinee at 2pm

Character Descriptions:
Annie Sullivan, Female 18-25: Helen’s teacher. She is a strong and vibrant woman who is determined to connect Helen to the world. Must have a strong connection to Helen. Irish accent is a plus.
Helen Keller, Female 8-12: Deaf, blind mute. She is trapped in her own world, unable to speak, hear, or see. An extremely stubborn and temperamental child who grew up without any access to outside world. Must have a strong connection to Annie Sullivan.
Captain Arthur Keller, Male 40-50: Helen’s father. A captain, he is stern, but devoted to his family. He struggles to connect to young Helen, but he is loving nonetheless.
Kate Keller, Female 30-40: Helen’s mother. She is tormented by her Helen’s perceivably insurmountable disability. She seeks to please Helen in order to avoid the tantrums. A fiercely devoted mother
James Keller, Male 16-20: Helen’s halfbrother, the son of the captain. He is described as indolent. He sees Helen as mentally defective and believes it best she be put in an asylum. Loves to torment Annie and Helen.
Aunt Eve, Female 30-45: Helen’s aunt. She is a talkative, opinionated woman who serves as the catalyst for the Kellers’ contact with the Perkins School for the Blind.
Anagnos/Doctor, Male 40-50: Annie’s counselor at the Perkins Institution for the Blind. A dear and kind man, he is very fond of Annie. He serves as a mentor and friend. Will double as doctor.
Virginia, Female/Male 30-60: a servant. She/he is cheerful and very loving towards the Keller children.
Martha, Female 8-12: a playmate of Helen. Will double as school children
Percy, Male 8-12: a playmate of Helen. Will double as school children
