We'll be hosting an open casting call for our upcoming production SISTER ACT! IN-PERSON AUDITIONS: Saturday, September 13, 2025
— Registration is from 11:00am - 11:30am
— Audition begins promptly at 11:30am
This audition is NOT by appointment — all interested performers should arrive before 11:30am.

• Pre-registration closes at 10:00am on September 13, 2025.
• Filling out this form prior to the audition date is STRONGLY encouraged but not required.
• Performers will be seen in order of registration.
– PREPARATIONS –
• Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of music found in Sister Act.
• An accompanist will be provided. A bluetooth speaker will be available for instrumental tracks. No acapella auditions.
• Please be prepared to participate in a dance audition! We’re looking for those auditioning to be enthusiastic and have FUN.
• You may be asked to read selections from the script, depending on time.
• Please bring a headshot and resume. (If you pre-register, we will have your headshot and resume at the audition.)
• Please bring ALL known conflicts between September 14 - November 16, 2025.
– DAY OF AUDITION SCHEDULE –
• 11:30am - 12:15pm: Learn Dance Combination (yes, we will be dancing first! Don’t worry about dressing up for this audition — come as you are! Comfortable shoes and clothes you can move in are recommended)
• 12:30pm: Vocal Auditions Begin
• Dance Auditions will occur in intervals throughout the day and in between vocal auditions!
– VIDEO SUBMISSIONS –
Can't make the in-person audition? Video submissions will be accepted.
The Creative Team for Sister Act will accept video submissions for instances where performers cannot attend the in-person audition only.
— Performers should submit a video per the vocal audition requirements below.
— The deadline for video submissions will be Saturday, September 13th at 11:30am. Videos submitted after this deadline may not be considered.

— REHEARSAL INFORMATION —
• Although the schedules are currently not set, productions typically rehearse *select* weeknights (Monday – Friday, anywhere between 6:30pm – 10:00pm.) Occasional weekend rehearsals may occur depending on the conflicts and needs of the production.
• While we are displaced from our facility, we will be rehearsing in offsite locations. These will be communicated when the rehearsal schedule is provided!

DELORIS VAN CARTIER: An aspiring performer, trying to find both fame and a place in the world. When forced to hide in the convent, she initially refuses to embrace her new lifestyle, but learns to embrace it when she works with the choir. Loud-mouthed, and sassy, but ultimately caring. Female, age 25-35; Vocal range F#5-E3
MOTHER SUPERIOR: The head of the convent, sarcastic and a bit stiff. Extremely protective about keeping her sisters away from the outside world, which puts her in direct opposition to Deloris and her musical teachings. Female, age 50-70; Vocal Range E5-D3
SISTER MARY ROBERT: A postulant, abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singing with Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has made her live a shell of a life. Female, age 16-25; Vocal Range A5-F#3
SISTER MARY PATRICK: A nun of the convent. Consistently perky, enthusiastic, and easily excitable. Female, age 35-50
SISTER MARY LAZARUS: A nun of the convent and the head of the choir. Rather deadpan and the least welcoming of any of the nuns, but she gets caught up in Deloris’s soul music. Female, age 50-70; Vocal Range B4-F3
MONSIGNOR O’HARA: One of the heads of the convent. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soul music surprisingly puts him in a different mood. Male, age 45-60; Vocal Range G4-E3
CURTIS: A club owner, notorious gangster, and Deloris’s boyfriend. Cocky and controlling, always on the verge of violence. Male, age 30-40; Vocal Range Ab4-A2
EDDIE SOUTHER: The desk chief at the Philadelphia police station and a high school classmate of Deloris who helps get her into hiding. Faces a lot of nerves when under pressure, causing him to sweat profusely. He still yearns for Deloris after all these years, and dreams of being her hero. Male, age 25-35; Vocal Range B4-Ab2
TJ: Curtis’s nephew and one of his thugs. Deft and cognizant of the fact, constantly in a state of ignorant bliss. Male, age 16-30; Vocal Range Eb5-Db3
JOEY: One of Curtis’s thugs. Believes himself to be quite the ladies’ man. Male, age 30-40; Vocal Range Eb5-Bb2
PABLO: One of Curtis’s thugs. A natural follower, constantly speaks in another language(s). Male, age 25-40; Vocal Range F5-C4
SISTER MARY MARTIN-OF-TOURS: A nun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, but has her moments of surprising clarity. Female, age 40-60
SISTER MARY THERESA: A nun of the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretly packs a punch. Female, age 60-70
MICHELLE: One of Deloris’s back-up singers. Lippy and always quick with a retort. Female, age 20-30; Vocal Range F5-Bb3
TINA: One of Deloris’s back-up singers. A little naive. Female, age 20-30; Vocal Range: F5-Ab3
ERNIE: One of Curtis’s thugs. Initially thought to be a mindless yes-man, he turns out to be an undercover police informant. Male, age 25-35
