AUDITION NOTICEHomewood Theatre is proud to announce upcoming auditions for "Moon Over Buffalo" by Ken Ludwig (and directed by Pat Yates).
THE AUDITIONS will take place on SUNDAY AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 23rd, 2:30pm – 5:30pm at Homewood Theatre, 1831 28th Avenue South, Homewood, AL 35209. For the audition, please prepare a SHORT COMEDIC MONOLOGUE (90 seconds). Headshot and résumé are appreciated but not required.
NOTICE!! We want to be fully transparent. SOME ROLES ARE PRE-CAST!! We will only be auditioning for the roles of HOWARD, ROSILAND, and CHARLOTTE.
PERFORMANCE DATES for "Moon Over Buffalo" will be April 9-19, 2026.
REHEARSALS will begin in late February 2026.

SYNOPSIS:
Charlotte and George Hay are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac (the "revised, one nostril version") and Noel Coward's Private Lives, when they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN (for the available roles):
--Charlotte Hay - (Female, 50s) She helps to run the acting troupe and plays all the leads even those for which she is a bit too old. Must be able to do an upper-class British accent.
--Rosalind “Roz” Hay - (Female, 20-30 years old) George and Charlotte's daughter, used to be an actress and a member of their acting troupe, but she decided that she wanted a real career, so she left - determined never to act again - or be like her parents. Must be able to do an upper-class British accent.
--Howard - (late 20s-early 30s) – a weatherman and Rosalind's fiancé. He comes across as a wimp, a little annoying, nervous, and very excitable. Must be able to do strong physical comedy.
