AUDITION NOTICE Look Forward: The Ruby Bridges Story

AUDITIONS:
Monday, December 8, starting at 4 PM
Tuesday, December 9, starting at 4 PM
Callbacks will take place Wednesday and Thursday as necessary.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Auditioners will be asked to read from the script of the show with other auditioners.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes (running shoes are acceptable), and bring water.
CASTING BREAKDOWN

CHARACTERS:
RUBY BRIDGES, F, 6, African-American - the eldest child of a working-class
family in New Orleans, LA, Ruby is bright, obedient, and full of grace
LUCILLE BRIDGES, F, 26, African-American - Ruby's mother, a risk-taker whose
Christian faith gives her courage
ABON BRIDGES, M, 29, African-American - Ruby's father, hard working and
more risk-averse due to the real threat of racism
DR. COLES, M, 31, White - Ruby's pro-bono psychologist who works with her
through her first year of integrated school
MRS. HENRY, F, 28, White - Ruby's teacher at William Frantz, originally from
Boston and new to violent Southern racism
ENSEMBLE, multiple actors to play the other roles* in the performance, at
director’s discretion. *Narrators 1 and 2, NAACP Rep, Federal Marshals
SETTING:
New Orleans, Louisiana 1960 -- Ruby's home, William Frantz Elementary, and
other community locales.
PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
TBD: Previews in and around Jackson.
Wednesday, February 11, at 9:30 AM
Thursday, February 12, at 9:30 AM and 7 PM
Friday, February 13, at 9:30 AM and 7 PM
Saturday, February 14, at 2 PM
Sunday, February 14, at 3 PM
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
GUYS & DOLLS will begin rehearsals on Thursday, September 18. Rehearsals will primarily be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4 PM - 7 PM. Friday and Saturday rehearsals will be added nearer to performance.
Technical rehearsals will take place the two weeks before performances. People cast in the show will be expected to attend each technical rehearsal.
