A future-mythic comedy play with music.
Zetta Stone, a traveling performer, and her companion, Dog (a young man undergoing a voluntary species demotion), meet another couple of lost vaudevillians and join forces in their quest for an audience, stalked all the while through the post-apocalyptic wilderness by a pair of ferocious and hungry Lost Boys.
Please prepare a short contemporary monologue. We will be doing cold reads from the script as well.
This is a play, but there are a few songs as well.
Characters include:
ROZETTA STONE (ZETTA): Performer and entrepreneur, from a long lineage of show-folk.
DOG: Human by birth, dog by choice.
VERA SIMILITUDE: A truth teller who manipulates using what she does not say.
JO-JO THE BALD-FACED LIAR: a semi-feral girl.
COKE & BUD: Scavengers—savage grown-up Lost Boys.
The roles of BUD and COKE have been cast.
Performances are August 13-15 at the Grand Theatre in Eau Claire.
