Announcing open auditions for DEADLINE by Don Zolidis!
Deadline is a campy, modern-day whodunnit full of non-stop humor, twists, and turns! The production will be co-directed by Ben Brennan & Cheyenne Perez, with stage management by Katie Carriero. Performances will run May 8th-24th at The Lab in Cranbury Park.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
🗓️ Monday, March 2nd and Tuesday, March 3rd
⏰ 6:00PM-9:30PM
📍The Norwalk Performing Arts Lab, 300 Grumman Avenue, Cranbury Park, Norwalk, CT
Auditioners will be seen in order of arrival, no appointment necessary. Please bring a resume and headshot if you have them and be prepared to list all known conflicts in March, April, and May. Auditioners will be asked to read from provided sides but may also prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue from any medium of their choosing, should they like to present that as well (not required). Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Wednesday, March 4th from 6:00PM-9:30PM by invitation only.
All roles are available and we are seeking a diverse cast of approximately 13 adult/teenage actors (ages 16+) for this production. Sides for all roles will be available onsite and can be requested in advance by emailing [email protected]. If you are unavailable for an in-person audition, please email us for information regarding auditioning virtually. We strive for inclusivity at The Lab and welcome performers of all identities and abilities to join us.
PLOT SUMMARY:
When eight mystery writers arrive at a legendary writer’s fog-shrouded island mansion in the North Atlantic, they think they’re ready for the Deadline Challenge – twenty-four restful hours to write as much of their new novel as possible. But the Deadline Challenge is anything but restful. In reality, the writers are brought together to solve a murder – the victim yet to be determined, and the killer yet to strike. If a writer can design and execute a perfect murder and get away with it, they’ll win a million dollars (which is a lot of money for a writer). Who will live? Who will die? Who will survive the Deadline?
