AUDITION NOTICETwelve Angry Jurors
Anderson’s Mainstage Theatre is holding auditions for Twelve Angry Jurors, directed by Ted Jacobs and Garrett Ogle-Short.

(Please note: auditions will NOT be held at Mainstage Theatre.)
Auditions will be held one-on-one.
Please prepare a short monologue (1–2 minutes).
If you would like to audition for a specific juror, the director will also have copies of the script available and may ask you to read selected lines.
Character Breakdown
Juror 1
A small, somewhat self-important person who is impressed with the authority of their role as foreperson. Formal in manner. Not particularly bright, but determined and persistent.
Juror 2
Meek and hesitant. Has difficulty maintaining an opinion of their own. Easily swayed and tends to adopt the opinion of the last person who speaks.
Juror 3
Strong, forceful, and extremely opinionated. Quick-tempered with hints of cruelty. Humorless and intolerant of differing viewpoints. Tries to dominate the room.
Juror 4
A person of wealth and status. A confident and practiced speaker who always presents themselves well. Believes they are above the others. Concerned only with facts and logic and is appalled by emotional behavior.
Juror 5
Young and somewhat naive. Nervous and intimidated by the others. Takes the responsibility seriously but struggles to speak up when older jurors have the floor.
Juror 6
Honest but slow-thinking. Careful and deliberate when forming opinions. Not quick to develop their own viewpoint but listens closely and respects others’ ideas.
Juror 7
Loud, flashy, and impatient. A fast-talking salesperson who believes they have more important things to do than jury duty. Quick-tempered and quick to form opinions about things they know little about.
Juror 8
Quiet and thoughtful. Calm, compassionate, and principled. Seeks truth and justice and carefully considers every side of the argument.
Juror 9
An older juror who feels worn down by life. Observant and reflective. Recognizes their own regrets and sees things others overlook.
Juror 10
Angry, bitter, and openly prejudiced. Quick to antagonize others. Holds deeply biased views and places little value on human life outside their own perspective.
Juror 11
A refugee from Europe. Speaks with an accent. Humble, respectful, and deeply grateful for the justice system. Passionate about fairness because of personal experience with injustice.
Juror 12
A slick, polished advertising executive. Intelligent but superficial. Thinks about people in terms of percentages and marketing trends rather than real human experience.
Guard
A small supporting role. Any age or gender.
