Open call for collaborators. DPT is preparing for it's first show, FIVE. It is an exploration of the embodiment of the five stages of grief. On May 9th we will be holding a physical devising workshop in preparation for the development of FIVE. This workshop will serve as an audition for a work-in-progress staging on May 29 & 30. We are seeking performers from a variety of backgrounds and artistic styles, including dance, physical theatre, circus, and improv. Participants will be asked to work in pairs and groups experimenting with partner work and embodied storytelling. Please wear comfortable clothing for movement. We will work either barefoot or with footwear that grips the floor (ie, yoga socks, jazz shoes, etc. No plain socks).
You do not have to be considered for the performance if you merely wish to attend the workshop and explore embodied storytelling in the context of grief. Principles of Emotional Dramaturgy will be applied in the rehearsal and performance space to allow for brave explorations of grief while safely stepping into and out of those explorations, releasing the grief before we step back into our day to day lives.

We are looking for an ensemble of 6-8 performers. All performers will be paid.
