About this Event
The Work: This four-week intensive is designed for actors ready to bridge the gap between "getting the lines right" and booking the room. In a fast-moving professional landscape, the ability to quickly break down a script and find a unique point of entry is essential. This lab focuses on the practical application of technique to current TV and film sides, challenging actors to make bold, character-driven choices that align with industry expectations.
The focus is on the marriage of preparation and spontaneity, understanding the technical requirements of the frame while maintaining the courage to bring your authentic self to the material. Working within a professional self-tape environment, actors will learn to navigate the business of the audition process with a clear, reliable strategy. This is a dedicated space for those committed to elevating their professional standard and taking ownership of their career.
Throughout the intensive, students will work on:
Self-Tape Mastery: Working on-camera in a dedicated self-tape setup to understand framing and lighting.
Rapid Script Breakdown: Learning how to quickly identify the arc and rhythm of current industry sides.
Bold Character Choices: Moving beyond the obvious to find specific, truthful choices that stand out.
The Business of Auditioning: Navigating current industry standards and professional set-up expectations.
On-Camera Confidence: Developing a grounded presence and ease in front of the lens.
The Result: You leave with a streamlined process for script analysis, a stronger presence on camera, and the tools to deliver specific, grounded performances that reflect your unique artistic voice.
