Scotopia~ noun: The ability to see in dim light or darkness.
Scotopia is a new play festival spanning over the month of March! Performances will begin March 8th and run every weekend afterwards. The festival will include a variety of short play nights, Fringe styled one person performances, staged readings, events, and galleries.
This audition will be for both the fully produced short plays, as well as the full length plays as staged readings. All works are original, new pieces, most making their stage debut at Scotopia. Submitted from playwrights everywhere, the plays were hand picked by MoB Theatre company and range in genre from comedy to drama, covering a myriad of complex stories. Topics include- but are not limited to- AI, climate change, capitalism, and identity. In the spirit of MoB, all chosen works intend to capture human connection, condition, and spirit.
Additionally, some original MoB works will return to the stage for further development, including Wilmington Reconstructed, and Oak Grove Cemetery.
MoB Theatre is dedicated to inclusivity and diversity. We are especially seeking BIPOC Actors, as well as actors of all sexuality, genders, and abilities. No experience needed, and no preparation required. Actors will be given sides from the scripts to read. Just show up, seriously!
