About this Event
Join us for the ATU UDL Tertiary Education Conference 2026
A dynamic one-day event exploring this year’s theme:
“Climbing the UDL Ladder: Building a Culture of Belonging in Tertiary Education.”
Hosted by Atlantic Technological University, this conference brings together educators, leaders, researchers, and practitioners committed to advancing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and fostering inclusive tertiary environments.
We are delighted to welcome keynote speaker Dr. Lisa Padden, presenting on the concept of bias, belonging and the potential of UDL 3.0 through the ALTITUDE Charter in Tertiary Education. This keynote will examine how institutions can move beyond awareness of bias toward meaningful, systemic belonging through the ALTITUDE Charter.
A featured panel discussion — “The ALTITUDE Charter in Action: Creating Belonging Across the Tertiary Landscape” — will explore shared commitments, practical challenges, and actionable strategies for reducing bias across institutions.
The programme also includes interactive afternoon workshops designed to support practical implementation and peer learning.
We will be honoured to welcome the winners of the Dr. Brendan McCormack Awards, celebrating leadership and innovation in inclusive education.
Join colleagues from across the sector as we collaborate, reflect, and climb the UDL ladder together.
