Joe Wright (He/Him) is a fight & intimacy director based out of the Metro Detroit area. He’s a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, a Lead Instructor & Co-Founder of Theatrica Gladiatoria (www.fightglad.com), and a co-coordinator of the Mitten Mayhem Stage Combat Workshop. He’s taught combat for the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance and some recent Fight Direction work includes Grand Horizons (Tipping Point Theatre), Henry V & A Midsummer Night's Dream (Livonia Shakespeare in the Park), Antigone (Spinning Dot Theatre), and Usher (Penny Seats Theatre). His focus is on making this work accessible to -every- body, letting the body naturally inform the work, and finding the truth in physical storytelling.
