About this Event
Join the Atlantic Fellows for a thought-provoking conversation and immersive experience exploring the power of emerging technologies to tell urgent climate stories.
Taking place amidst Skoll Week in Oxford, we are delighted to host this special event at The House of Creativity, (Fusion Arts, 15 Park End St, OX1 1HH). Ana P. Santos, Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity in Southeast Asia and award-winning journalist will share her experience of using VR as a climate justice tool in her 360 film "Living in Water". Together, with the Atlantic Institute's XR Lead Alice Wroe, they will discuss this VR experience co-created with communities in the Philippines, illuminating the lived realities of rising sea levels.
The conversation will explore the creative, ethical, and justice-driven possibilities of Extended Reality (XR), examining both its transformative potential and its challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Ana, ask questions, and reflect on how immersive media can amplify voices and inspire action on climate justice.
Following the discussion, participants are invited to experience Living In Water firsthand through a guided VR demo.
