The most effective sub genre in grindhouse cinema is the revenge flick. This has been the case since at least the Golden Age of the 70s starting with Death Wish. Join us as Atlanta Film Freak Society presents a trio of revenge-o-matics kicking off with William Lustig’s 42nd Street exploitation classic Vigilante (1982) starring Oscar nominee Robert Forster and genre royalty Fred Williamson. Where the system failed and allowed hooligans to terrorize the streets these tough guys team up to beat the ever loving crap out of them. Then from the minds of the Flipper TV series (?!) comes Mr. No Legs (1978) which is exactly what you think it is… a double amputee hit man with a weaponized/ shotgun enhanced wheel chair facing off against the Florida underground. And then the evening ends with the king of the sub genre… Charles Bronson in Death Wish V: The Face of Death (1994). The final entry in the long running series finds ol' squinty eyes taking on the mob (and its unhinged leader Michael Parks) after yet another loved one is assaulted and killed. Bronson morphs into a full on slasher with various “creative kills” involving remote controlled exploding soccer balls and fatal dips in acid baths. Good times. Admission is only 15 bucks! Parking directions: Parking garage located off of side street next to theater with a sign that says "Pencil Factory shops parking" and another sign that says "Leasing office" with an arrow. Once you go onto the street, you will pull into the parking garage on the left and park anywhere on the lower level. Once parked, come inside and scan our parking QR CODE for free parking.
Street parking is free after 6pm and free on weekends. 5-hour free parking is available in the parking garage off the side street between Budi's Sushi and Limelight Theater where you will see the Pencil Factory Retail Parking sign. Once parked, scan the code in the garage for "20 minutes free parking", then you MUST register your car using the QR CODE inside the lobby for free parking, and renew it after the 5 hours expire, if necessary. Failure to register your parking in the parking garage may result in a car boot by the Pencil Factory management. Breakfast at Barney's parking garage is paid parking only. Please ensure you arrive early enough to find and register your parking!
