About this Event
Greek Paschal candles, also known as Lambades, are traditionally used during Orthodox Easter to symbolize the light of Christ’s resurrection. These candles are lit at midnight on Holy Saturday, when the priest announces, “Christ is Risen,” and worshippers pass the flame from one candle to another. Sometimes given as gifts from godparents to their godchildren, they are also often beautifully decorated, especially for children.
During your trip to the National Hellenic Museum for the Easter season, stop by our craft space to design your own Pascha candle to take home with you. Drop in any time between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm to participate.
This listing does not include admission to the musuem.
