The asymmetric seated sequence is important for pranayama and meditation. The poses help to correct any imbalance by working both
sides of the body separately and addressing the hips, knees and ankles. This can allow the yoga practitioner to sit physically undisturbed in order to place their focus and concentration on chanting, breathing practices and meditation.
For the first day of practice we will focus on the foundational postures of the sequence with attention to form and alignment.
For the second day we will explore some variations within the foundational postures including some hybrid sequences.
The workshop will take place live in the studio and will also be available online via Zoom. For participants who are unable to attend the live session, a recording link will be shared after the workshop.

Eric Powell:
Eric began his yoga practice 30 years ago in Chicago with a wonderful teacher, Suddha Weixler. The studio offered a wide array of classes and styles which continue to inform his teaching. Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha all have made an impact and he is grateful for the experience and exposure that he received at the center. From Chicago, Eric moved to New York City where he met and became both a friend and student of Manju Jois. As his practice has evolved over the years he found himself studying with yet another student of Krishnamacharya, Srivatsa Ramaswami, whose style of yoga he now practices.
