The Astronomical Society of Western Australia would like to cordially invite you to our 2026 Autumn Star Party.
Want to enjoy pristine Bortle 1 skies with excellent horizons and great company? This is the event for it!
We welcome visual observers, astrophotographers and all with an interest in astronomy!
Registration is essential for catering purposes and must be made before Sunday 12th April

ASWA Adult Members $20 for the weekend
Adult Non-Members $40 for the weekend
Children (under 18 years) $10, provided you take them with you when you leave!
Please direct deposit to ASWA BSB : 066-157 Account Number : 10348213 before Sunday 12th April. Include your surname as the reference number.
Cost includes a BBQ on Friday night, roast dinner on Saturday night, and a light breakfast (toast, tea, coffee etc.) on Saturday morning.
The ASWA Tammin Observatory is ~190 km from Perth GPO, full address will be provided upon registration. The site is accessible to regular 2-wheel drive vehicles.
This is remote camping at its finest: pristine Bortle 1 skies, great company and very limited facilities. The observatory is located on a bush block, so be prepared to bring and take home all that you need.
Site facilities include:
Scheme water, toilets, shower, BBQ, and mobile coverage for Telstra and Optus.
Plenty of relatively flat, open space for setting up telescopes and camping close to them.
Level concrete pads for telescopes
Excellent viewing in all directions (N and W to the horizon, above 20-25˚ elevation in other directions)
Site facilities do not include:
Electrical power, for anything other than charging phones and small devices, or medial devices.
Large amounts of shade from the Sun during the day
Wind protection for telescopes at night
Rubbish and waste collection
