Have you ever wondered why the same year can feel completely different for each of us?

Across the world, different cultures mark the New Year at different times — the Western New Year, the Chinese New Year, the Buddhist New Year. Alongside these collective beginnings, there is also your personal New Year. In this workshop, we’ll explore when the New Year begins for you individually. Your birth chart can highlight which areas of life may come into focus and what influences them. We will also discuss why planetary movements and transits affect some people more strongly than others.

We’ll explore the 12-year cycle, where a different area of life becomes the main focus each year. You will see how this pattern repeats every 12 years, and why — even as the cycle returns — each experience can feel unique.

By the end of the workshop you will get some ideas about why your New Year is personal to you from an astrological perspective. The workshop will be interactive, so feel free to share your stories and, if you would like, bring your natal chart with you.

Meet Jelena, your host
Jelena has been passionate about astrology and was fortunate to begin her studies under the guidance of one of New Zealand’s most respected astrologers, who helped her start on the right path. From the very beginning, she has pursued her learning independently, drawing extensively from recommended books. Last year, she completed a course in Horary Astrology through the School of Traditional Astrology (STA). She is currently continuing her studies through a one-on-one course with a traditional astrology teacher in the UK while also receiving mentorship from an astrologer based in Perth, Australia.
