Our feature presentation, Asteroid Quest, dives into the mysteries of asteroids and why scientists are so eager to study them. Often described as time capsules, these ancient rocks preserve clues from the earliest days of the solar system and the formation of Earth itself. Discover how recent unmanned missions have traveled to asteroids, collected samples, and returned them to Earth, revealing surprising insights that are reshaping our understanding of these celestial bodies. The show also explores near-Earth asteroids, their potential risks, and how scientists are developing real-world strategies to protect our planet by learning how to deflect asteroids from their paths.
We’ll also include Seasonal Stargazing, a fast-paced tour of the current night sky. Learn how to spot prominent stars and constellations, hear the stories behind their names, and get a fresh look at “what’s up tonight.”
