The ACPCF is delighted to invite all members to attend our annual study days at the Novotel Birmingham Centre, on 16th and 17th April 2026.
We have gathered feedback and topic suggestions from last year's evaluations, so that there will be a variety of lectures and discussions, detailed in the agenda:
Thursday 16th April:
- Research updates
- Equality and Diversity
- Impact of Vaping
- Exercise Testing
- CF SPID/CFTR-RD
- Hot Topics (Separate paeds and adults)
Friday 17th April:
- AGM
- Pregnancy and Menopause in CF
- Coaching and Motivational Interviewing
- Case Studies
- Yoga
- Patient Experience
- CF Trust updates
We are really keen to have wider involvement from the membership into the organisation and participation of the study days. Here’s a number of ways you can get involved:
1. Submit a case study – Call for case studies into the following topics:
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Motivational interviewing/coaching
- Miscellaneous
Please find the attached proforma for completion to submit your case study application. Please email applications to [email protected] and [email protected]
Deadline for submission is 20th February and we will inform all applicants of the outcome by the end of February. Successful applicants will have their study day ticket cost reimbursed.
New to submitting a case study or feel you would like some guidance on writing a submission? Helen Douglas will be putting on an online support session to guide you through the process. A date for this is to be confirmed and will be advertised on NHS Futures.
·2. Bring along a recent poster you have created, this could be an ECFS or NACFC submission. There will be a vote for the best poster and a prize will be awarded
·3. Submit a question for our hot topics session. This will be separated into paediatrics and adults
-4. Suggest a patient to present their own experience of living with CF. Our key areas for patient experience this year include late diagnosis and post-transplant but if you have a patient who falls into a different area but they are keen to speak then please let us know. Please contact [email protected] for further discussions.
As a committee, we have worked hard to keep the price of attendance competitive. There will be a limited number of Early Bird tickets priced at £90, once these are sold the ticket price will be £110. Due to popular demand, we also have a limited number of single day tickets for the Thursday or Friday at a cost of £70. Places for the study day are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis providing your ACPCF membership is up to date. Please note that there will be an Eventbrite fee added to your ticket price.
There will be a social networking event on Thursday evening at the Novotel. This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to catch up outside of work, so it would be lovely to see you all there. Please select an evening social ticket when purchasing your main event ticket if you wish to attend.
We look forward to seeing you in Birmingham in 2026!
Yours sincerely,
Emily Smith and Jocelyn Choyce
