About this Event

The Association for Adult Development and Aging (AADA) is looking forward to seeing you at the 2024 National Conference taking place July 27-28, 2024 on the campus of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. The virtual pre-conference sessions and welcome reception will take place on Friday July 26, 2024.

This year’s conference theme is Age of the Empowered: Promoting Social Justice and Equity Across the Adultspan. The Association for Adult Development and Aging recognizes that there are numerous factors impacting adult clients, students, and counselors. As we work to examine factors and systems that facilitate injustice, inequity, and oppression, we simultaneously work to dismantle them through our clinical work, research, advocacy and critical conversations with one another at the 2024 conference. Our conference theme this year strives to centralize empowerment as we work to make our society more just and equitable for all.

About AADA: The Association for Adult Development and Aging (AADA) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The Association for Adult Development and Aging, serves as a focal point for sharing, professional development, and advocacy related to adult development and aging issues and addresses counseling concerns across the lifespan. Learn more about our mission, publications, and how to join by visiting https://www.aadadivision.org

Keynote Speaker: We are enthused to have Dr. Catharine Y. Chang as our conference keynote speaker. Catherine Y. Chang is a Professor at Georgia State University and the director of International Programs for the College of Education and Human Development. Dr. Chang’s primary areas of scholarship include social justice and advocacy, multicultural counseling competence, counselor training and supervision, and counseling implications related to Asian American and Korean American clients. She is most passionate about mentoring students and early career professionals from minoritized populations, believing in the power of representation. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.

Hosting University: AADA is delighted to have our conference on the campus of Agnes Scott College thanks to the amazing Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Agnes Scott College. The campus works to ensure it is ADA compliant and accessible to all that may need accommodations.
